18650 modding my Sony Handycam HDR-CX220

In this video, I'll be showing the process of 18650 modding the Sony Handycam HDR-CX220 camcorder. 18650 modding is the process of adapting a device like this camera to accept bare 18650s as a power source. Due to this camera running on 7.4V instead of 3.7V, to safely do the 18650 mod on this, a battery management circuit must be used. You could technically direct-wire the pack to the camera's battery terminals, but you MUST use protected cells! Since this mod makes use of the original battery pack's monitoring/charging board, bare unprotected cells can be used, Do not open Li-Ion battery packs or perform this mod unless you know what you are doing. I've seen other videos on YouTube of people connecting 2S 18650 packs (unprotected) directly to the camera's DC-IN power jack.
