James B. - Same Ground | "Rich in what counts"

Same Ground is a reflection on how we treat each other in sacred spaces. It questions why we often honor wealth over character, reminding listeners that everyone enters with the same spiritual weight. James B. blends R&B, country, and gospel to create a sound that feels both grounded and uplifting, using acoustic guitar and pedal steel to tell a story of humility. Lyrics Oh oh oh, eh eh eh Oh oh oh, eh eh eh A man walked in with gold rings on his hand We cleared the front row, gave him where to stand A poor man followed through the very same door We told him sit in the corner on the floor We all walk in on the same ground Rich or poor, we all need the same crown Don't move the man in the fine coat to the front God chose the poor to be rich in what counts You have shamed the ones that God has lifted high You honored gold and let the needy pass you by The rich man drags you into court to take your name And you roll out the carpet all the same We all walk in on the same ground Rich or poor, we all need the same crown Don't move the man in the fine coat to the front God chose the poor to be rich in what counts Have you not become a judge with evil in your thoughts Deciding who is worthy by the things that they have got Every soul that walks through that door Carries the same weight before the Lord We all walk in on the same ground Rich or poor, we all need the same crown Don't move the man in the fine coat to the front God chose the poor to be rich in what counts Oh oh oh, eh eh eh Rich in what counts Same Ground Music made with HeartMuLa on MLX Studio; mastered in-house.
