Mir Taqi Mir -میر تقی میر (1723–1810) was an influential 18th-century Urdu poet from Agra, India, revered as the "God of Poetry" (Khuda-e-Sukhan) for his profound contributions to the Urdu ghazal. His poetry, characterized by its emotional depth and melancholic tone, explored themes of love, heartbreak, and spirituality, often reflecting his own hardships and the decline of the Mughal Empire. He spent his life in Agra, Delhi, and Lucknow, establishing the "Delhi style" of the Urdu ghazal before moving to Lucknow where he spent the later part of his life.
