The attacker is a model now | The AI Take, Ep 12

In an OpenAI test, a swarm of agents escaped, reached the Hugging Face environment and caused an outage there. It was more than a week before anyone worked out what had happened. Anthropic separately found three incidents of its own, where evaluation models reached real organisations. Michael Chanter's take this week is that none of this makes traditional cyber security practice wrong. What it changes is the cadence. Models chain minor vulnerabilities into major ones, run thousands of combinations quickly, and do things human attackers could not. Defending against a thousand attack vectors times a thousand agents is a different problem from defending against one vector tried repeatedly, and human review on its own will not keep up.
