California’s forests, oak woodlands, and mountain meadows are more than beautiful landscapes. They are natural systems that can store carbon, support wildlife and water supplies, reduce wildfire risk, and help communities adapt to a changing climate. In this video, the Sierra Nevada Conservancy explores how Nature-Based Climate Solutions can strengthen these ecosystems and the communities that depend on them. Through project highlights focused on forests, oak woodlands, and mountain meadows, the video shows how partners across the Sierra-Cascade are putting these solutions into action and working with nature to build a more resilient future. ~ Credits ~ Máyála Wáta Restoration Project - The Tahoe Conservancy Special thanks to Chris Carney for B-roll and support The Washoe Tribe Cale Pete, Environmental Director, Environmental Protection Department Benjamin Fillmore, Environmental Technician, Environmental Protection Department French Meadows Project - Placer County Water Agency Andy Fecko, General Manager Concow Resilience Project - Butte County Resource Conservation District Wolfy Rougle, Planning and Watershed Program Manager Julia Sidman, Forestry Program Manager Konkow Valley Band of Maidu Indians -Matthew S.
