Does an expensive school automatically mean a better education for your child? Not necessarily. But there's another side to this conversation that we need to talk about.
Following my previous video about the expensive school trap, someone raised an important point: some schools charge very high fees while their teachers are not paid well.
That comment reminded me of a personal story about a family friend who worked at a very expensive school. She was reportedly owed salaries before she suffered an ectopic pregnancy and slumped at work. After leaving the school, she was still owed outstanding salaries, and the hospital expenses she says she was promised were not paid. Almost three years later, according to her, the matter remains unresolved.
Her experience raises some difficult questions.
💭 If parents pay millions in school fees, are they getting the value they expect?
💭 Can a school provide quality education if its teachers are struggling with unpaid salaries?
💭 Should parents consider how a school treats its teachers when choosing a school for their children?
💭 Are we paying for quality education, impressive facilities, or simply a prestigious name?
Join me LIVE as we continue this conversation. I want to hear from parents, teachers, former school employees, and anyone with a perspective to share.
Let's have an honest conversation without generalising about every school or teacher.
*What do you think? Should teacher welfare be one of the things parents investigate before choosing an expensive school?*
Share your thoughts in the live chat, and let's discuss.
