The PROS of Buying an Unbacked Horse | Why I Chose a 3 Year Old

Would you buy an unbacked horse as a beginner rider? 🐴 When I bought my first horse, I made the decision to buy a 3-year-old unbacked cob x Connemara. It might seem like an unusual choice, especially as an adult beginner rider, but there were actually quite a few reasons why I wanted to start with an unbacked horse. In this video, I'm sharing the pros of buying an unbacked horse, why I made that decision and what I've enjoyed about being part of my horse's journey from the very beginning. From building a relationship and getting to know his personality, to introducing him to new experiences and being part of those first milestones, there have been some really special moments along the way. I'm not saying buying an unbacked horse is the right decision for everyone, and it certainly comes with its own challenges. But I wanted to share my experience and explain why it was the right choice for me.
