— WHAT THIS VIDEO COVERS —
Fifteen towns and cities that were emptied and never refilled, ordered from the gentlest ending to the most extreme. A diamond town buried chest-deep in Namib sand. A Californian gold camp frozen in "arrested decay." A Greek hillside emptied by paperwork in 1923. An Italian hill town that slid off its own cliff. Henry Ford's failed Amazon rubber utopia. An Argentine spa town that spent sixteen years under ten metres of brine. The most densely populated place ever recorded, abandoned in weeks. A Siberian mining town cleared by cutting the heating at minus 50. An asbestos town wiped off the map — literally. A city stripped brick by brick until only a mosque stood. A French village preserved exactly as it was left on 10 June 1944. A Mediterranean resort sealed behind a fence since 1974 with 1974 stock still on the shelves. A national capital buried under volcanic ash. A Pennsylvania town sitting on a coal seam that has been burning since 1962. And Pripyat, evacuated in 36 hours, with parts of its exclusion zone not properly habitable for up to 20,000 years.

The voiceover is generated using standard, generic AI Text-to-Speech (TTS) presets; no famous people's voices were cloned or mimicked. AI was used as a creative assistant to aid with research, scriptwriting, and polishing. FUN FACT: Bodie State Historic Park in California receives packages in the post most years from visitors mailing back nails, bottles, spoons and bits of glass they pocketed on their visit — usually with a letter blaming their run of bad luck on the "Bodie Curse." The park keeps some of the letters. Rangers will tell you the curse was likely invented to stop people looting the site, which, going by the size of the pile, worked better than anyone expected.
