It accurately emulates a number of old modules, including the Roland SC-55, SC-88, SC-88VL, SC-88Pro, SC-8850, and the GM modes of the Roland JV-1080 and XV-3080. Here is 88Emu played through LoopMIDI in Wolfenstein 3D using the ECWolf 1.4.1 source port. The AdLib music is converted to General MIDI using ericvids' wolfmidi mod linked above. I'm not particularly a fan of Wolfenstein 3D's gameplay, but replacing the tinny OPL2 music with Sound Canvas tones like Doom really helps a lot. Heck, it was enough to get me to play all the way through E1 when I usually ragequit out of boredom after E1M10. While Bobby Prince used a SC-55 back in the DOS era, the orchestral instruments like the French Horn sound a million times better on the SC-88 Pro. I do think "Synth Bass 1" sounds better on the SC-55, but it's a worthwhile trade-off. Logo: https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/gam... Use falls under fair use laws.
