Unboxing, Roco 78088 / Ae 3/6 I 10639

Today, the new Ae 3/6 I 10639 (Roco 78088) is out of the box. Unlike the SBB's Ae 4/7 locomotives, the Ae 3/6 had one less driving axle and were therefore ideally suited for light to medium freight and passenger train service in the Swiss Plateau. A total of 114 units entered service with the SBB between 1921 and 1929, and with their individual axle drives from BBC-Buchli and their articulated levers, they were extremely successful and thus remained in service for many decades.
