Why Do I Need the Church to Grow Closer to God? | Psalms 133–134

Can I follow Jesus on my own, or do I really need the church to grow closer to God? In Psalms 133–134, the final Psalms of Ascent, the pilgrims have finally arrived together at the place of worship. Their journey reminds us that while our relationship with God is personal, the Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. God calls His people to dwell together in unity, to rejoice together, to worship together, and to help one another grow. We cannot save one another—but as brothers and sisters in Christ, we can encourage, strengthen, pray for, and watch over one another as we journey toward God.
