Iowa Interstate 6988 QJ Steam Locomotive Wilton FD Excursions 8/22/2021

Five years ago OTD, in some of its last steam operations before its on-going overhaul, the imported Chinese Type QJ 2-10-2 steam locomotive Iowa Interstate 6988 ran a series of short push-pull excursions over the IAIS mainline between Wilton and a point just west of Walcott, IA to raise money for the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department. GP38-2 IAIS 700 was on the west end of the train to lead back to Wilton. At the end of the day we see westbound IAIS train BICB (Blue Island-Council Bluffs) at Walcott with a pair of ES44ACs.
