At the end of the First Age, Sauron knelt. Nobody dragged him there. The war was over, his master was gone, and the most feared lieutenant in Middle-earth walked out to the herald of the Valar and renounced everything. And Tolkien wrote something about that moment most people never see: it may have been real.
The fandom has argued "who was worse — Morgoth or Sauron?" for decades, and nearly every video ends the same way: let me know in the comments. But Tolkien actually answered it — in writing. The catch is that we keep asking it as one question, and he treated it as two. One answer is in the opening pages of The Silmarillion, in plain sight. The other is buried in his private notes, and it's stranger and more unsettling than either side of the comment-section war.
The verdicts in this video are Tolkien's own sentences, quoted verbatim. Where the argument goes beyond what he wrote — which fall haunts more, and why — that's my reading, and I flag exactly where the text ends and the interpretation begins. You're welcome to argue with mine in the comments.

X) — private notes, published posthumously, and the video treats them as such.
