A humble tribute to Asia’s largest rock band, Junoon “Neend Aati Nahin” is more than a song—it’s a feeling that shaped an entire generation. Originally released on August 14, 1991, as part of Junoon’s self-titled debut album, this track marked the beginning of a musical revolution in Pakistan and across South Asia. Junoon was founded by Salman Ahmad — visionary guitarist, songwriter, and musical architect — who formed the band after departing Vital Signs. He was joined by Ali Azmat, whose powerful and distinctive voice defined the band’s early sound, and Nusrat Hussain, a former Vital Signs guitarist and a Commercial Pilot who contributed keyboards and musical depth on the debut album Junoon (1991). Together, these first members laid the foundation of a revolution that reshaped rock music in Pakistan. This velvet vocal cover is my small and heartfelt tribute to Junoon, the band that gave direction, courage, and identity to so many dreamers like me. I began my journey into music inspired by Salman Ahmad’s iconic guitar work, Nusrat Hussain's Keyboard magic and the fearless sound that redefined rock in this region. Junoon’s music didn’t just entertain—it guided, awakened, and gave purpose.
