Pigeons are as combative a species as they are cooperative, which can make the social interactions of a flock larger than four a bit of a challenge to manage.
In a loft, the birds typically free fly and select their own nests according to what they can defend.
Indoors, unless they can free fly full time, there need to be assigned enclosures.
But the birds still have the instinct to try to steal what they consider better places by chasing the residents out.
Cirrus and Firma were selected to be my dedicated long term fosters because they are the least combative of my bonded pairs.
Serket and Titan are the most combative by far!
They and Sterling ran me ragged today with all the fights they started!
But towards the end of flight time, Sterling seemed to get the message of where they are and are not allowed to make decisions by combat.
Titan may not have fully given up, but she could at least pause her hostilities long enough to enjoy the snack mat.
Pants, Diamond & Teasel, Serket & Titan, and Dici are still looking for their forever homes.
Coo and Dash will be looking for homes once they clear quarantine. (Expected 10/21/26 for Coo and 10/29/26 for Dash)
The 2026 Shipping Window has closed.
I stop shipping from mid-October to Mid January to avoid delays caused by the flood of Christmas packages, but the Loft will still be open for visits in person by appointment.
And I am willing to transport to approved clients that live or are willing to meet within 4 hours of Augusta Ga for a transport fee.
If you are interested in pet pigeons, please follow this link to our Master List of Resources, where I discuss why you may or may not want them, and list what you will need to house and care for your birds:
