Rewilding Field Trip with the University of Manchester

Learning rewilding in the field! 🌿🐾 Last May, we had the pleasure of welcoming the very first generation of students from the University of Manchester’s brand-new Master’s programme in Rewilding for their field trip with us. Together with their teachers, we designed a five-day experience that would give students a hands-on introduction to the work our NGO is doing on the ground — from working with local communities to restoring rivers and creating the conditions for wildlife to return. Over the course of the trip, we explored the landscape, discovered how humans and wildlife share the same spaces, and looked at the species that are making their comeback. The students also carried out their own small camera-trapping project, getting the chance to experience some of the practical tools used in conservation and rewilding. For us, these five days were just as special. Their energy, curiosity and enthusiasm brought a fresh perspective to our work and reminded us why we keep doing what we do. It was a privilege to meet this new generation of rewilders — and to see their passion for restoring nature in action.
