Hi and welcome to One tiny story. My name is Andrea and I come from Sweden. I create dollhouse miniatures in 1:12 scale. In this video I will show you how you can easily make a dollhouse loft bed.
MATERIAL
The material I use for the loft bed is a two-sided white cardboard with a gray middle layer of gray recycled fiber. In Swedish it is called ”skyltkartong” and in English it is called cardboard/screenboard. This one I use is 2 mm thick. The mattress is made of foam board.
The GLUE I use and can really recommend is Tacky Glue - Quick dry.
The fabric is from IKEA.
To make the pillow and quilt fluffy, I use Fiber Fill.
MEASUREMENTS
I have created this loft bed specifically for a room box I’m working on. A floor in a dollhouse in scale 1:12 is generally about 20 cm high, but this box I is 25 cm high. So I have made the loft bed a little higher than if it were to be placed in a dollhouse. So if you are going to create a loft bed for a dollhouse, you should make the bed slightly lower than the measurements below.
LOFT BED MEASUREMENTS (in cm)
Bottom: 7,1 x 16,5 cm
Back: 3 x 16,5 cm
Front: 3 x 12.2 cm
Sides: 7,5 x 19,5 cm
Mattress: 7 x 16,4 cm
LADDER MEASUREMENTS (in cm)
Height: 17,5 x 1 cm
Steps: 3,9 x 1 cm
