Iceland Road Trip: Egilsstadir to Akureyri

Iceland Road trip from Egilsstadir to Akureyri has some noteworthy places to visit. We started with visiting Dettifoss which is located in northen part of Iceland. It is the largest waterfalls in Europe and the source of water for the waterfalls is Vatnajokull Glacier. We then made our way into Hverir Geothermal area. The Ground temperature here is around 80-100C. It is an active geothermal area having steaming vents, hot mud pools etc, also it smells of sulphur. We then made our way to Godafoss which is the one of the most beautiful waterfalls in nothern iceland. We further made our way to Akureyri city where we will be staying for the night. Akureyri is the 2nd largest city in Iceland.
