playlist    • IL-2 Battle of Moscow Career Herman Hubar   A wounded Luftwaffe Major Herman Hubar returns to active duty and is assigned to a Heinkel HE-111H6 unit KG53 (Condor legion). The mission almost went completely FUBAR Simply because the Command at the other base decided to give us BF-110 for escorts NOT BF-109s which SHOULD have been escorting. To make things worse our escorts lost 2 planes in a collision when they were CLIMBING. Finally we were attacked and our escort was no where to be found and I lost Heinkel C (Number 3). He sadly did not return. Never the less the objective was completed. What ultimately saved us was that the the Heinkel crews professionalism and even though the Soviet Air Force pilots were brave and relentless.
