Join us on our family trip as we explore Darjeeling at a relaxed pace, visiting some of our favourite places and enjoying the town's unique vibe. 🏔️ Sightseeing & Travel Tips Darjeeling offers popular 7-Point and 5-Point sightseeing tours, along with the famous Tiger Hill Sunrise Tour. Best time: October to March for a chance to enjoy clear views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Tiger Hill: Start around 4 AM. A private cab may cost ₹1,500–₹2,000 and usually covers Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. Ask for the original Ghoom Monastery near Sterling Resort. Toy Train: If tourist tickets are expensive or unavailable, consider a regular train to Ghoom or Kurseong, subject to availability. In Kurseong, explore the town and enjoy a meal at the Tourist Lodge. Other places to visit include the viewpoint near Governor's House, Darjeeling Zoo, Japanese Temple, Happy Valley Tea Estate, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Ropeway and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. 🏨 Hotels to Consider Dekeling Resort, Pineridge Hotel, Shangri-La Guest House, Fairmont Hotel, Sinclairs, The Elgin, Alice Villa and Classic Guest House. 🍽️ Restaurants to Explore Glenary's, Keventer's, Shangri-La, Dekevas, New Dish and Park Restaurant. For pure vegetarian food, try Hotel Lunar and Hasty Tasty. 🛍️ Shopping & Tea Decorative items and silver jewellery: Habeeb Mallick, Arts & Crafts, Eastern Arts and Nepal Curios. Clothing, jackets and shoes: Markets behind Keventer's, Five Star Market and Mahakal Market. Darjeeling tea: Mayukh Tea, Golden Tips and Nathmull's. Carpets: Hayden Hall.
