I said in the original video that this is an Irish fiddle tune, but it is actually SCOTTISH! My apologies to the Scots! Apparently it is a common misconception that this tune is Irish. A good reminder to me to do my research! Please note that I’m a folk musician and fiddler, and I don’t consider myself a classical violinist. In my experience of the folk tradition, techniques tend to be somewhat informal, variable, and flexible, so take what I say with a grain of salt :) My thoughts on fiddling are based on my own personal musical experience.
