In this Swiss Alps travel guide, we hike the famous Mountain View Trail and North Face Trail to Mürren.
This is the perfect Murren to Lauterbrunnen hike, if you want to experience the best views in the Jungfrau area.
The valley of Lauterbrunnen is known as the valley of 72 waterfalls. It is easily one of the most famous and breathtaking spots in Switzerland. In this video, we’re taking you along with us on a sequence of incredible hikes high above the valley floor.
We lace up our boots for two spectacular half-day trails: the Mountain View Trail to Allmendhubel and the North Face Trail down to the car-free village of Mürren.
Because the Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp gondola was out of service during our trip, we had to start with a grueling 700-meter climb right from the valley floor. It was tough in the summer heat (especially with camera gear!), but the constantly evolving views of the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks made every single step worth it.
Whether you are planning your own Swiss Alps itinerary or just want to enjoy the scenery, we hope this video inspires your next adventure. Grab a coffee, join us on the trail, and don't forget to subscribe for more honest travel guides!

💡 Tips for Your Swiss Hiking Trip
Check Trail Statuses: Always check if trails are closed for woodcutting or maintenance before heading out.
Be Mindful of Livestock: Many Swiss trails cross private farmland. Always close gates securely behind you to keep the cows and sheep safe.
Prepare for Microclimates: Even on a 30°C (86°F) summer day, high-altitude trails can still have patches of snow.
Stay Over Night: Mürren has a population of just 432 people. Once the day-trippers leave on the last gondola, the village becomes incredibly peaceful.
FAQ:
Is the hike from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren hard? Yes, if the gondola is closed, it's a 700m climb!
