McKinlay to Longreach QLD

Hello and Welcome Back to our new channel/personal travel vlog. This trip we travel from McKinlay to Winton QLD. More dirt, dust, off grid stops and endless roads = PERFECTION PLACES WE STAYED: Long Waterhole Winton: Off grid, we stayed away from the water but plenty of space. About 2ks of corrugated dirt to enter and DO NOT ATTEMPT IN THE WET. Winton Wanderers Caravan Park: Drive through, neat sites. Lovely area set up with seats and a fireplace to enjoy the Famous Winton Sunsets APEX Riverside: Huge space you can turn right and follow the road for quieter spots, basic toilets and a water refill area. Loved this camp, it's next to the Thomson River. We were also lucky enough to fluke our stay during the Yellowbelly Fishing Competition. $10p/n or $40 for a week We didn't stay out Walkabout Creek Hotel McKinlay or Blue Heeler Kyuna although you can. We had planned our stay at Blue Heller but after poor unwelcoming service at the pub we moved on. BOOKED ACTIVITIES: Outback Pioneers Starlights Cruise: $165pp it was Beautiful, the cruise itself at sunset on the old paddle boat was lovely then the campfire time just perfect. Amazing bush Ballards, delicious dinner and Billy tea followed by movie time. Gondwana Stars Observatory: $50pp a relaxing beautiful Dark Skies experience. Led by a knowledgeable guide and some of the most amazing star views you will find. Not available on or either side of a full moon. Luminescent Longreach: $30pp a great way to learn the story of QANTAS in an interactive lightshow on the side of the aircraft. Longreach Yellow Belly Fishing Comp $35pp to participate. A relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We caught nothing, but a relaxing 10 hours on the river we didn't mind the lack of fish at all. Great prizes if you have more skill then us and very family friendly. Highlight though... BROLGAS They are just unreal Birds. We had them visit the van in both Winton and Longreach and it was just INCREDIBLE. Very curious birds and if they see you with food, they will do their best to get it, including trying to open the car. Safe Travels everyone and see you at our next stop Xx
