🚧 Airoli–Katai Freeway Latest Update 2026 | 4 Months Ground Progress Report The Airoli–Katai Naka Freeway is a major infrastructure project being developed by MMRDA to improve connectivity between Airoli, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli. From the elevated sections and Parsik Hill Twin Tunnel to the delayed Phase 3 construction near Katai Naka, let's take a closer look at the latest developments. 📍 WHAT YOU WILL SEE IN THIS VIDEO: ✅ Phase 1: Latest progress on the elevated corridor and entry/exit ramps near Thane-Belapur Road. ✅ Phase 2: Progress on the approximately 2.2 km elevated section and the 1.69 km Parsik Hill Twin Tunnel. ✅ Tunnel Safety Features: Emergency cross-passages, ventilation systems, fire detection and other safety provisions. ✅ NH-48 Connectivity: Updates on the tunnel exit and the connecting ramp. ✅ Phase 3 – 6.7 km Section: Latest construction progress and challenges caused by land acquisition. ✅ Mothagaon Construction Update: Pier caps, Afcons' casting yard, and precast girders and deck slabs. ✅ Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Crossing: The freeway alignment and its interaction with the bullet train corridor. ✅ Katai Naka Update: Pier cap completion and the placement of steel composite girders. 🏗️ PROJECT DETAILS • Project: Airoli–Katai Naka Freeway • Executing Authority: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) • Total Length: Approximately 12.71 km • Phase 1 & 2: Elevated corridor and Parsik Hill Twin Tunnel sections • Phase 3: Approximately 6.7 km • Contractor for Phase 3: Afcons Infrastructure • Target previously indicated for opening Phase 1 & 2: December 2026 • Full project completion target previously indicated: October 2028 Project timelines and opening dates are targets and may change. Actual opening is subject to official confirmation and completion of the required works. 🚗 WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT? Once operational, the Airoli–Katai Freeway is expected to improve connectivity between Navi Mumbai, Thane and the Kalyan-Dombivli region.
