How to restore a fallen Christian is one of the clearest tests of real faith, and in this episode of The Neighbour Please Podcast, Steve and Chris ask every believer a hard question: when a brother or sister in Christ falls into sin, are you quick to put your foot on their neck, or quick to reach out your hand and pick them back up? If you have ever failed the Lord and felt ashamed, judged, or written off, or if you have been wounded by church hurt and gossip, this honest conversation on Galatians 6:1 is for you. Restore somebody. Don't roast somebody. Too many believers who stumble end up hiding in shame because they have watched the church act as judge, jury, and executioner, and too many of us pile on instead of helping, whether intentionally through gossip and quiet grudges or unintentionally by putting ourselves where God should be. Steve and Chris unpack what Paul meant by restoring a fallen brother "in the spirit of meekness," why meekness is not meanness or cowardice, how pride keeps people from asking for help, and why a fallen brother needs a friend, not a jury. They talk about zipping your lip and opening your arms, refusing to keep dragging up the past, and the difference between addressing sin and broadcasting it to the group text. Through the story of Peter, who flopped again and again yet was never mocked by the other disciples and was still used mightily by Jesus, they land on the hope at the center of the gospel: just because somebody failed doesn't mean they're finished, and God's people are called to lift each other up in prayer, love, and restoration. SCRIPTURES REFERENCED Galatians 6:1 KJV Proverbs 17:9 KJV Proverbs 10:12 KJV Proverbs 24:16 KJV 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV Luke 22:32 KJV Psalm 103:12 KJV Matthew 4:19 KJV CHAPTERS 00:00 Welcome to the Neighbourhood: Steve and Chris thank the faithful neighbors who comment and share, and ask for prayer as the Lord opens new doors for Chris. 02:20 When a Believer Falls: Have you ever watched someone fall spiritually? Steve asks whether we pile on or pick them up, and Chris shares how he guards his gift of encouragement. 05:25 Restore, Don't Roast: Galatians 6:1 lays out how spiritual believers restore the fallen in meekness, considering themselves lest they also be tempted. 07:26 Pride, Shame, and Church Hurt: Why fallen believers hide, why making it right with the Lord and the church matters, and how harsh churches drive people away from faith. 13:15 Meekness Not Meanness: Students of the word versus carnal folks, why meek never means cowardly, and Chris on addressing a wrong once and then loving instead of being petty. 17:17 Zip Your Lip, Open Your Arms: Proverbs 17:9 and 10:12 show that love covers rather than broadcasts. Take it to the Lord, not the group text. 21:01 Failed Doesn't Mean Finished: A just man falls seven times and rises again. Peter flopped hard, yet the disciples never piled on and Jesus still used him. 25:43 Challenges and Closing Prayer: Forgive yourself, pray with a struggling friend right then, kneel beside someone at the altar, and don't be ashamed to ask for help.
