ORDER OF WORSHIP – September 20, 2026 *Call to Worship – Psalm 47:5-7 “God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of the trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm!” *Hymn of Praise: “Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder” #172 *Prayer of Adoration and The Lord’s Prayer Call to Confession: Psalm 130:1-4 “Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.” Prayer of Confession: Most merciful Lord, we cry to you from the very depths of our soul. Holy Lord, we have no standing before you in ourselves. Our God, if you were to take note of our iniquities, none of us would be able to abide in your presence. And so, most gracious Father, we rest in your steadfast love and mercy; our hope is in you alone. Through the atoning sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, you do hear our pleas for mercy. Because of his redeeming love, we can find forgiveness and plentiful redemption. We humbly ask these things in the great name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Lord. Amen. Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 130:5-8 “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.” *Hymn of Preparation: “I’m Not Ashamed to Own My Lord” #505 (to tune # 164) Scripture Reading: Habakkuk 2:1-5; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 Pastoral Prayer: Mr. Andy Mitchell *Scripture Reading: Romans 1:16-17 Sermon: “The Just Shall Live by Faith” – Rev. David Stewart “Living by Faith in the Gospel of Jesus” *Confessing Our Faith: “The Apostles’ Creed” #845 Celebrating the Lord’s Supper *Hymn of Response: ”I Love to Tell the Story” #478 *Benediction: 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” *Three-fold Amen
