I spent the night alone in wild Africa with no tent, just a hammock.
With lions rumored to be in the area, every sound in the dark kept me awake.
For this challenge, I pushed myself further than before. Instead of using a tent, I slept out in the open with only a hammock for shelter. To improve my chances, I built a boma as a barrier of thorn trees around my camp and kept a small fire going through the night.
But as darkness settled in, the bush came alive. Every movement, every sound made my heart race. Knowing there were lions nearby made it almost impossible to relax, and sleep didn’t come easy.
I was also very cold with the wind blowing through my hammock. The moon came up and it lit up the sky and everything around me which also made it harder to sleep.
This night tested more than just survival skills but tested my mindset, fear, and ability to stay calm in the unknown.
