Catch “Under the Microscope,” a new virtual series featuring a notable alum in conversation with a UCSF dean. Each conversation is 20-30 minutes and addresses a trending health care or health science topic that highlights the participating alum’s professional contributions to the topic. This month’s segment spotlights Yoona Kim, PharmD ’09, PhD, discussing the future of health care with School of Pharmacy Interim Dean Thomas Kearney, PharmD ’80. About the featured alum: Dr. Kim is co-founder and CEO of Arine, a medical-intelligence platform with a mission to solve medication mismanagement in health care. Arine combines data science and clinical expertise to develop evidence-based programs that optimize therapy, reduce medication-related problems, and improve outcomes. Dr. Kim previously was head of clinical modeling and analytics at Proteus Digital Health and also worked for Novartis, Gilead, and Mercer. She earned her PharmD with an emphasis in health policy and management from UCSF and a PhD in health economics and outcomes from the University of Texas at Austin.
