The flat cap (also known by its variants such as ivy cap, newsboy, baker boy, peaky, scally, Gatsby, etc.) is one of the world's oldest hat styles and has lived an interesting life since the 14th Century, from being required by law to a wealthy fashion statement to a garment for old men to a modern resurgence and form of solidarity for the working-class people.
