Range Report: Heckler & Koch HK4 - HK's first pistol has a serious design flaw

In this Range Report, I shoot and review a pistol that is both historically significant and mechanically fascinating, the Heckler & Koch HK4. As HK’s first production pistol, the HK4 was designed as a multi-caliber platform capable of firing .22 LR, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP with the appropriate components. Beyond its unusual caliber-conversion system, the HK4 has an interesting design flaw that owners need to be aware of to avoid potentially damaging the pistol. I take a closer look at this issue along with the HK4’s unique features, trigger, recoil, accuracy, and overall shooting experience.
