A reading of INFINITE JEST by David Foster Wallace | Boston AA

I chose to read an extract from pages 343-351. It's the beginning of the chapter that describes Don Gately's perspective on the Alcoholics Anonymous program in Boston. Don Gately is one of the main characters of the novel. David Foster Wallace himself says his writing "doesn't live on the breath" very well. I now know what he was talking about. Delivering some sentences that last half a page or more was quite the challenge. I hope I've done the writing justice. It's not 100% perfect and I knocked the mic stand a couple of times. The cover shown in the video was designed by The Made Shop for the 20th anniversary of novel's first publication. I would love a copy with this design!
