Sunny Starscout is one of the most misunderstood aspects of MLP G5. Most fans look at this character and they see a bland and boring “main character” who doesn’t even fulfill the role that was given to her. They say that her glory days were long behind her in the movie, and that she represents everything that is wrong with this generation as a whole. Well, to that I say…I disagree. I look at Sunny and I see a complex, well-developed character who was given plenty of time to grow by the narrative. I see a protagonist who was challenged by the narrative, not just in A New Generation, but throughout this gen’s entire run. I see a pony who had to earn what she has, a pony who continuously suffers, has defined character flaws…and I see a leader who made a real impact on her fellow ponies. In honor of the fifth anniversary of A New Generation, I am here to make the case to why Sunny was actually a well-written protagonist… #mlpgen5 #hawknightwing #analysis #defense #mlp #review #g5 #mylittlepony Fair Use.
