Ascension Quest's Feral Hunter isn't just our version of "the ranger." In this devlog, I'm opening up the actual Feral Hunter class and walking through the whole thing—from the fantasy and purpose behind the class to its abilities, powers, and the radically different kinds of hunters you can build with it. The Feral Hunter lives somewhere between the classic Ranger and Barbarian, with enough nature-focused options to season yours with a little Druid if that's the character you want to create. How much of each? That's up to you. 🏹 Ranged Hunter — Keep your distance, stalk your prey, and introduce it to the Mantispear. 🐺 Sparked Pet — Fight alongside an animal companion empowered by the Spark. 🦡 Honey Badger — Forget the bow. Get on all fours and bite and claw anything stupid enough to threaten you. And those are paths—not boxes. Mix abilities, get creative, and build the Feral Hunter that fulfills *your* character fantasy. This is another casual look behind the curtain at *Ascension Quest* and the TTRPG we've been building. We'll go through the class from beginning to end, talk about why certain mechanics exist, and explore how we're designing classes around player creativity rather than forcing every character down the same path. If you're interested in TTRPG design, character creation, Rangers, Barbarians, Druids, animal companions, or just want to see what playing Ascension Quest actually looks like, this one's for you. ⚔️ Play the Ascension Quest Launch Demo: rocketswordgames.com 💬 Join our Discord and help us playtest: discord.gg/JQR2uEWh Let me know what kind of *Feral Hunter* you would build in the comments below! #AscensionQuest #TTRPG #GameDesign #RPG #TabletopRPG
