Goosebumps! The March Out, Edinburgh Military Tattoo Aug 2026 #edinburgh

This is a 'Must See' if in Edinburgh during August for the Fringe Festival or Military Tattoo. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo March Out is the spectacular concluding tradition of each night's performance, where the massive international cast of musicians, dancers, and military personnel exits the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. The Royal Mile Spectacle Free Public Event: While the main 90-minute show requires a ticket, the March Out can be viewed for free by anyone lining the streets outside the gates to the Castle. The Route: The entire cast marches directly out of the castle gates and down turning right at Johnston Terrace. Timing: The march begins immediately after the grand finale and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper, usually hitting the streets around 11:00 PM on standard weeknights, and lasts around 15 minutes.
