It was built and painted at EMD's Muncie, Indiana plant and represents the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western. NS 9893 is part of the 9760-9978 series, of which fewer than 200 remain active. Most of Norfolk Southern's original Dash 9 fleet has been rebuilt into AC44C6Ms — which is why three of the nine units in this video wear 4000-series numbers.
