On September 11, during the 9/11 memorial ceremony in Coral Springs, Florida, someone noticed a tiny kitten on the Coral Springs Fire Department's platform truck. The crew took on what they called an unexpected rescue assignment and brought her down. A staff member from Coral Springs Charter School took her home. After her vet visit, she was healthy and settling into her new home — and her new family named her Hero.
