Pale Headed Rosella

Hi Everyone. EXCITING times at the wild Bird Sanctuary. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. Oh sorry. That opening triggered my slight Dickens PTSD from my classroom youth. It’s thrilling times. I get so excited when I catch a glimpse of a bird that I haven’t noticed before. Well this week didn’t disappoint. All I saw was a flash of yellow and colour. Crickey, what is that? It was REALLY shy but I did get a good look at it. I quickly ‘GoogleWebed’ it and sure enough a ‘Pale Headed Rosella’ (Platycercus adscitus). That’s it. What a beautiful little Parrot. I have never seen or heard of this Parrot before so it’s super special for me to see it. Getting a visit from a wild bird just thrills me to bits. They seem to have become a regular visitor so far.
