Starter Motor / Starter Relay Diagnostic Genuine Buddy 125cc or Hooligan Blur 125 170cc GY6 Scooter

If you go out to your scooter and hear a click click when you try and start it, you may either have a bad battery, bad starter relay, or bad starter motor. 1. first we'l be testing the battery by using a jumper box, try and jump start your buddy. if you still hear the click click it's most likely the starter. If the starter relay was bad there would be no click, and no start. 2. to remove the starter motor youll first remove the seat. 2.5 for easier access to the right hand screw on the starter motor, remove the bolts on the airbox case with a 8mm and just gently push to the side, for easier access. this isn't required. 3. then, when behind the buddy scooter, on the left hand side above the kick starter case you will see the silver metal starter motor. it looks similar to a can of soda. there will be two screws. you unscrew both these screws. 4. you then go back to under the seat area, and remove the starter relay connections, these are connected to the starter. 5. you can seperate the starter motor from the frame by simply pulling the starter to the left, as if you were behind the buddy looking down into the engine bay. this will seperate the starter motor from the engine, you now simply pull up and out, like a can of soda from a vending machine thats laying flat on the floor. 6. grab your new starter, do the opposite motion and wiggling the starter motor back down into the engine area, you'll then push the starter motor into the engine, left pushing towards the right. this mates the starter to the engine. 7. refasten your screws at the starter and the starter relays. 8. put seat back on and rescrew 9. enjoy your scooter! It takes me about 12 minutes to change the starter AND relay. I got the starter motor off eBay for 58$, and the relay for 18$. Folks had some comments so i decided to remake it - i hope this is okay. Just wanting to help some folks out with their Starter Motor / Starter Relay replacement on the Genuine Buddy, Blur, Hooligan, or GY6.
