I Can Feel It Now is a song about my dad—and about discovering that sometimes healing comes very late in the story. Growing up, I knew my dad loved me. I saw his faith, his integrity, the way he loved my mom, and the responsibility he carried for our family. But knowing you are loved and being able to feel that love aren’t always the same thing. Now, as my dad’s memory fades and life has become much simpler, something unexpected has happened. There is more tenderness. More hand-holding. More hugs. More “I love you, baby doll.” More time to simply be together. And somehow, in a season that holds so much loss, God has given me a gift I never expected: I’m getting to know my dad’s heart in a way I never did before.
