The Return of Diaspora: And Yet We Remain | Ep 3 | Everything Has Changed Trilogy | Lebanon | Womena

Host Angela Brussel sits down with Naima Yazbek, a Brazilian-Lebanese belly dancer who returned to Lebanon in the hopes of finding her family. They engage in the question of why some of us often remain, despite the hardships. “I had to fight a lot bureaucracies here to be able to stay, to be able to dance in public,” says Naima. “I just learned from the good and the bad. The opportunities I had here even with all the fighting, the difficulties, are amazing. Where else could I have this?” “Everything Has Changed” is a Womena production that looks at the ways in which our lives have changed over the last decade, the realities we continue to carry with us and the new narratives we’ve adopted. This trilogy “The Diaspora Returns” was brought to life in collaboration with Angela Brussel of Nour Jan presents.
