In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to fix overexposed backlit portraits using a simple Camera Raw Masking trick. We’ll use an outdoor portrait with a blown-out sky and overly bright highlights. I’ll show you how to use precise masking to recover sky details, control bright areas, and balance the lighting between the subject and the background. We’ll also use the Color Grading wheels inside the Masking panel to add color to the sky and match its tones with the subject, creating a more balanced and natural-looking result.
