The greatest and by far the most valuable promise that we stand on, is the hope of eternal life. But it's not just eternal life we look forward to, but to the assurance that there is a place that when we get there we will finally feel like we are home. 1 Peter 2:11 describes us aptly as being pilgrims on this earth, that is, we are only passing through. Therefore we should live our lives as those who have a a glorious hope in a life that promises no pain, tears or sorrow but instead things that no eye has seen or ear has heard how good it will be. This earth is not our home. What a great promise!
