Some moments captured from Thaipusam 2023 in Singapore. The procession starts from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple at Serangoon Road and ends at Sri Thendayuthapani Temple at Tank Road. Devotees will walk the four kilometres, along with relatives and friends who chant hymns and prayers to support and encourage them. A popular annual foot procession, Thaipusam is a sacred Tamil thanksgiving festival. According to Tamil folklore, it is celebrated to honour Lord Murugan (also known by the name Lord Subrahmanya), who represents virtue, youth and power, and is the destroyer of evil.
