This turned into one of those metal detecting days I will never forget. I’m back out in the Scottish fields with John, ‪@thescottishdetectorist‬ , exploring a permission that has already produced some incredible history, but this time, things went to another level. From the first good signals, it became clear that this was going to be a very special day. The finds just kept coming, with centuries of history emerging from the soil and plenty of surprises along the way. And then came a signal that connected us with Scotland’s Roman past... At almost 50 minutes, this is a proper full-length detecting adventure and probably one of the best days I’ve ever had with a metal detector. Huge thanks to John for another fantastic day out, and of course to the landowner for allowing us to explore and recover the history hidden beneath these fields.
