Wednesday, October 21, 2026 | Alaska Weather Update & Midterm Election Talk
Good morning from North Pole, Alaska!
This morning between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM the temperature was 28 degrees with absolutely no wind. Fresh snow was still falling from yesterday's storm, creating a peaceful and beautiful Alaska morning. Yesterday's snowfall continued throughout most of the day, leaving a couple of inches on the ground and enough accumulation that I needed to clear my back deck and stairs to keep things safe for Remi, my Belgian Malinois Shepherd.
As many dog owners know, shepherd breeds can be susceptible to hip issues, so keeping walkways clear and safe is important, especially during our long Alaska winters.
I also spend some time discussing Alaska's 2026 Midterm Election, Ranked Choice Voting, and why it is important for every voter to research candidates and understand how their ballot works. Whether you support Ranked Choice Voting or oppose it, informed voters make stronger communities.
We also talk about Alaska's future, including resource development, energy projects, jobs, the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), border security, wages, and the importance of electing leaders who represent the priorities of Alaska's citizens.
And of course, you'll get to see Remi having a blast running and playing in the fresh snow!
