Rex pollination achieved! • Orchid grow tent collection update • 21 June 2021

Cattleya rex 'Mayu' HCC/AOS was used as the pollen parent for a sibling cross that will hopefully produce viable seed next year. At least three more sets of rex flowers are on their way. The Cattleya Blossfeldiana and dowiana seedlings have been moved to drier conditions, but growth is still looking strong. Rlc. Jessie Lee 'Hawaii', despite being older backbulbs, has rooted wonderfully and is producing what looks to be either a second leaf or a flower sheath in its new growth. Bulbophyllum echinolabium 'HAL' looks to be on its final flower—perhaps now will be a good time to repot. Bulbo medusae is completing 3 new growths, and I'm hopeful it will try to push out a few more before flowering season. Phalaenopsaurus will be blooming with its enormous white flowers within a month.
