China Just Changed the SKS Market Forever

China Just Changed the SKS Market Forever You are standing at a folding table inside a gun show, under fluorescent lights that hum a little too loud, and in front of you is a rifle with a wooden stock worn smooth by decades of hands that were not yours. It has a permanently attached bayonet folded flat under the barrel. It has a ten-round fixed magazine loaded from a stripper clip, the old way, the way soldiers loaded rifles before anyone had heard of a detachable box magazine. The dealer tells you it is a Chinese Type 56, a Norinco-made SKS, all matching numbers, chrome-lined bore. You ask the price. He says $575.
