In this video you will hear eight (8) piano variations on the traditional church hymn “I Will Sing of My Redeemer” that are suitable for congregational accompaniment OR even piano solo performances, especially when you need a short prelude, offertory or postlude. Use these piano variations to embellish your congregational accompaniment when you wish to avoid playing the same thing over and over again :) And the best part is that you can use these tips on any hymn or song out there! NOTE: This text is found under several tunes in our hymnals. The tune I used in this video is called MY REDEEMER (the other is HYFRYDOL). In these eight variations I maintained the original harmonic structure that is found in hymnals. The different variations will be on texture, register, walking bass, fill-ins.
