👇 See below for the full list of oil, filters, and tools you’ll need to do this yourself. In this Part 2 of the Built to Breathe series, I walk you through upgrading and extending the factory axle breathers on the Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU and Gladiator JT. The OEM setup is short, exposed, and vulnerable—especially for water crossings, mud, or extended off-road use. Chapters are listed at the bottom so you can skip to any section. This video covers: • The correct way to extend and upgrade your axle breathers • Hose sizes, fittings, clamps, and sintered bronze breathers • Routing tips to avoid heat, kinks, and pinch points • Optional manifold setup for redundancy/fault tolerance • Zip-tie and frame-routing tricks Whether you tow, rock crawl, overland, or daily your Jeep, this upgrade keeps water and debris out of your axles—and gives you peace of mind on and off the trail. 🛠 Parts list: Sintered Breather Vents(these work great) - https://amzn.to/4jDSSXB (These are the vents I replaced the Gore caps with) NOTE: A sintered-bronze breather is not waterproof. Splashes are fine, but submersion—especially as a hot axle cools—can possibly draw water through the porous bronze. An extended breather mounted high above the expected waterline is the solution. 45-Piece Fender Flare Clip Set for Jeep – https://amzn.to/4jxIelf I’ve tried at least four different brands from Amazon for replacing fender clips, and these are the best I’ve found so far. I even updated the links in my other video to use these. They’re much more affordable than the Mopar clips and, in my experience, they get the job done just as well. Brass Hose Barb Fittings - https://amzn.to/4puEa6F 1/4” NPT Female → 5/16” Barb, includes stainless clamps (Used for adapting the diff/TC/trans lines to the sintered vents) 5/16” Hose - https://amzn.to/4qfT5T9 Plenty if you’re routing the rear diff breather up into the taillight area. If you plan to run the rear breather hose all the way to the front, you’ll want 3/8” (https://amzn.to/4jVr8xX) or larger diameter hose and a longer length. In my experience, the rear taillight area is the best location for relocating the rear breather — and I break that down in detail in Part 1 of my breather video. Zip ties - https://amzn.to/4qHGU1m Optional (if you want to manifold): Dual-Row Air Manifold - https://amzn.to/4qRd8aE 📊 Want the actual factory service manual docs, tables, and spreadsheets used in my videos?
