Frameworks and guidance for patient involvement are well established, but what happens when they meet the realities of everyday research?
In this second webinar of the EUPATI Academia-NGO cluster series, we heard candid examples of what it takes to put patient involvement into practice.
Iryna Shakhnenko (EORTC) spoke about the cultural shift towards normalising patient involvement in clinical research. Emma Dorris (University College Dublin and the All-Island PPI Ignite Network) shared where best practice meets reality, from early involvement to power imbalances. Begoña Nafría Escalera (Sant Joan de Déu Hospital Barcelona) spoke about involving children and young people in clinical trials. The session was moderated by Phaedra Locquet (KU Leuven) and ended with an open Q&A.
